Maxims of the Thirteen Postures Seminar
Address: Khabarovsk, Russia
The knowledge of the Thirteen Postures Sequence of the Supreme Ultimate (Taiji) has rich and old history, rooted in the Yijing Book of Changes, the formulas of Zhang Sanfeng, elaborated in the “Maxims of the Thirteen Postures” treatise (shi san shi ge). It has been further developed in later lineages, primarily those of the Chen and Yang families who studied the nature of Taiji Tu.
Taiji Tu or The Scheme of Taiji represents the Supreme Ultimate, the all-encompassing principle that defines the transformation processes of Heaven, Earth and Man. This trinitarian structure allows the practitioner to explore the laws of change as well as the transition from one stage of evolution to the next. The Taiji Tu is based upon the measure of movement which is being trained through special sequences. Another great discipline that works the measure of motion is Taiji Quan. This practice opens way for the understanding of the three correspondences as well as the recuperation of energy. Once these are present, the true Taiji Tu is in operation.
