Nurturing through Saliva: The Teaching of the Immortal He Xiangu Seminar
He Xiangu is a female immortal, known also as the hostess of the Violet room on the Penglai Island, who contributed immensely to Daoist alchemy for women.
The lineage of the Immortal He is one of the eight canonic Daoist teachings and is based on the art of internal alchemic nurturing. Specifically, the art of nourishing through mica and pearl is considered to be He’s supreme instruction. Along with other schools, the art of He Xiangu gave rise to a separate way, known as the ‘Yoga of Nutrition’.
Equally, He’s doctrine is fundamental for women practicing alchemy (but is likewise followed by men). She is believed to be the first to have structured the alchemic practice for women.
The foundation of Immortal He’s practical methods is the feminine principle of gathering and nurturing. He Xiangu’s practice is considered to cultivate and nourish the immortal spirit, associated with the Primordial Mother (Xiang Tang). According to the legend Xiang Tang lives in the Primeval Cave, associated with the Matrix of Birth, where the secrets of the ‘Great One’ and ‘Three Pneumas’ are guarded.
The seminar is intended for both women and men.
