RITUAL. Five Roads of the Ritual: An Alchemical Tour in Ireland

Date: 27/06/2019 — 05/07/2019
Address: Ireland

We invite you to an adventure around the places of power on the great island of Ireland. A variety of secrets that this marvelous land keeps will be unveiled during the program; we will travel by the Way of the Giants and will stop by the oldest megalithic temple in Europe that still narrates about the peoples of the goddess Danu.

Late Antiquity and the Early Middle Ages were an epoch of rise of the mythology of ritual. Celts held a leading position in this process as they were the first to categorize various cults and rituals in accordance with the power of transformation that the latter carried rather than by the place of their origin. It was Ireland where this evolution began.

In essence every aspect of the Celtic tradition that has been preserved in writing represents a map of sorts on which the mythological space was transformed into a sphere of deeds and service necessary to create the measure of a man. As to the ritual itself, it received the code name ‘Five roads of Ireland’:

  • Slige Midlúachra
  • Slige Cualann
  • Slige Assail
  • Slige Dala
  • Slige Mór

Apart from the five sacred roads, key role was assigned to the five sacred rivers (and the sacral salmon related to these), the five sacral trees, the five sacral taboos and the five sacral movements that connect the Síd of Tara (a ritual center) with the sphere of the Perfect Ones. These terms or requirements became the foundation that opens the path to the exploration of the ritual. This knowledge is of key importance to everyone who takes an interest in the power of the ritual.
