Building the Alchemical Consciousness. The Teaching of the Immortal Cao Guo Jiu - Seminar
The teaching of the immortal Cao Guo Jiu concerns the transformation of one form of energy into another where the art of dantian formation, or the building of the alchemical consciousness, plays a fundamental role.
Building the alchemical consciousness leads us to the ability to transform the temporal energy yin qi and yang qi into atemporal energy yin shen and yang shen. To do this, we must create a source of yin jing and yang jing, or the dantian.
Dong Wang Gong, the King Father of the East, possessed this knowledge and Xi Wangmu, Queen Mother of the West, also turned to it, seeking to improve her nature. One way or another, this is the base from which we draw knowledge about building the alchemical consciousness, the formation of the dantian. Subsequently, this doctrine became known as "royal", as rulers and reigning elite wanted to quickly achieve immortality and were searching for the fastest and most perfect way to it.
One representative of the ruling family from Song dynasty, Gao Guo Jiu, went in pursuit of the elixir of immortality. During his journey, he met the immortal Lu Dongbin, who told him, that the fastest way is connected with the foundation, and the longest way is the work with the foundation. When asked, how to obtain quickly the foundation, Lu Dongbin advised to turn to Xi Wangmu, Queen Mother of the West. And so she was the one to teach Gao Guo Jiu the art of the foundation – the art of dantian formation. Mastering this practice delighted Gao Guo Jiu, because on the one hand, he had reached the knowledge of eternal transformation of energy, and on the other hand he continued living as a royal person. Later on, this practice was developed and complemented in the late XVIII century by the well-known Taoist, Liu Yiming (1734–1821 ). He was the master (patriarch) of the 11-th generation of Longmen school (Dragon Gate), in Qiyun mountains, modern Gansu province. Thus, the establishment of dantian formation practice can be fairly attributed to him or to the Longmen school.
